My friend Jen is running today with the Dana Farber team in the Boston Marathon!! This is the second year she has spent many hours and much energy raising money for cancer research and training for this incredible race. Jen is amazing. Her capacity to love others and her passion for life is huge. She has loved me and been a wonderful friend since the day we met at BYU many years ago.
After experiencing some knee injuries from the 2008 Boston Marathon she decided this year to raise money for Dana Farber cancer research but probably not run in the actual race. After my cancer returned in January her mind was set and there was no changing it--she was running the race. She is running as I write, she just reached the 30k marker.
Jen, you are amazing! Thank you for running this race today and thank you for being my friend and teammate in the race of life.
